- The Sarah B. Johnson who resided with Joseph and Amanda in 1850 and 1860 is probably Amanda's mother. She was aged 61 in 1850 and aged 71 in 1870 (consistency!), therefore born about 1789.
The Leedom Family lists another son, William B. born 1857, though the numbering is off in these pages. William is not listed with the family in 1850 or in 1860 though he would have been three years old. The listing could have been an error or William died as a young child. But the William B. Leedom listed by Sara Eachus is actually the illegitimate son of Roselma or Rose Emily, the eldest child of Joseph and Amanda. An 1891 Orphan's Court appeal was settled in 1891 concerning the right of William B. to inherit his mother's share of her father's estate despite his illegitimacy.
