- Richard resided with his father-in-law in 1880, occupation milk man. His middle initial is from the 1900 census of Upper Darby, Delaware Co. The 1910 census states he had been married 32 years. His birth year of 1851 was estimated from census records but his death record indicates his birth was about 1847. Birth place of Chester Co was given in his marriage record.
Death notice in Philadelphia Inquirer on 18 Jun 1910:
Broadbelt - On June 15, 1910. Richard James Broadbelt, beloved husband of Sadie Leedom and son of the late Richard and Mary A. Broadbelt, aged 63 years. Relatives and friends, also William Penn Lodge No. 273, IOOF, are invited to attend the funeral, on Saturday at 2 PM. from his late residence, Lansdowne ave, Llanerch, Pa. Interment at Arlington Cemetery.
Death certificate names his parents as Richard Broadbelt and Mary Evans abd gives his occupation as Miller.
