Marriage record to Hattie says he had been married previously and resided at Bainbridge, Berrien MI in 1909. In the 1900 census of Keeler as John "Fernhan". In 1910 John "Furnham" at Bainbridge with with Hattie. In 1920 at Dowagiac, Cass MI - "Fernhan". It appears that John had 2 children with first wife Alta and none with second wife Hattie. In 1930 at Dowagiac. John's 1950 death record records his name as John E. Fernham, son of August and Harriett Melvina (Becker) Fernham. His WWI Draft Registration card describes John as tall and of medium build, brown eyes and dark hair.
