  Notes	Amos is listed in the 1840 census of Upper Darby: 2 M <5, 1 M 10-15, 1 M 30-40, 1 F <5, 1 F 5-10, 1 F 20-30, 1 F 30-40 Listed on the same page are Daniel Leedom, Hugh Hart, John Kirk, Jesse E. Bond, Hannah Super, Horatio and William Lobb, and James and William Shillingford, all names that appear as near relations of various Leedom families. Amos and 'Marg.' Pyott were listed in Haverford, Delaware Co in 1850 with nine children. The oldest was 17 year old Elizabeth and the youngest was one month old Mira L. They were still residents of Haverford in 1860 when there were four children with them: Lewis, Amos, Margaret and Emily, along with a servant, Eliza Kane, and a 60 year old Mary Taggert. Margaretta W. died in 1864 and Amos Pyott was married next on 19 Dec 1867 to Isabella Smart. Amos was 59 years old, his birth and residence given as Delaware Co PA, and Isabella was 27 years old, birth and residence given as Philadelphia. I finally found Amos Pyott's death date referenced in that 1889 Chester, Delaware Co marriage license application of his widow Isabella. But she stated that her former husband's death date was 9 Mar 1879. Naturally, this is not the same death date as that given for this Amos Pyott in his death notice. And just as before, I cannot find any records of any Pyott who died in Mar of 1879 though it seems odd that Isabella would have been mistaken by four years in the death date of her first husband. In my notes for Isabella there is also some confusion over even the names of her parents. The 1870 census shows Amos, 63, and Isabella, 29, living in Philadelphia with their family. Amos gave his occupation as Stonemason and stated that he was born in Delaware as were the two oldest children, William, age 36, and Lewis, age 33. The third child was Emily, age 24. The youngest, Elmer, was 2 months old, born in Apr 1870, and is Amos and Isabella's son. The three oldest match the names and ages of Amos and Margaretta's two oldest sons and their fifth daughter despite their stated birth in Delaware (more probably meaning Delaware Co, PA). Margaretta was buried in Bethesda Cemetery and Amos probably was, too. I just haven't yet resolved his two probable wives, Margaretta, found in census records, and Elizabeth, named in the death certificates of two of Amos'daughters. Notice of a Sherriff's sale of land to be held on 6 Jun appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer on 26 May 1881. It contained a full description of the irregular size and placement of the lot in Philadelphia bounded by 65th street and Haverford streets, approximately 150' by 124'. It was "Taken in execution, and to be sold as the property of Amos Pyott." Did the sale of his land happen six years after his death in 1875 or two years after his death in 1879?
