- In 1706 he married Margaret Lawrence, of Haverford, daughter of David and Ellinor Lawrence. In 1709, he married Margaret Ellis, of Gwynedd, daughter of William John and widow of Robert Ellis.
He wrote his will on 3 Aug 1750 not naming a wife but naming three children. His current plantation of 150 acres in Haverford on Darby Creek he gave to his son William. To his son-in-law William Young and his wife Ann David he gave an equal sized plantation on Mill Creek. Regarding his third son the will stated "And as or my son David I have done as much for him as I do intend to do". The remaining lands were to be sold towards the payment of debts. Son William was named Executor, the will proved 1 Oct 1750.
