- Named in her father's will written 21 Feb 1878 described as "intermarried with Henry Jacobs". They resided in Avondale, Chester county according to Jordan's History of Delaware County, published in 1914.
Henry and Mary Jacobs were living in Franklin Twp, Chester Co in 1880 with their six childrenand were living alone in Franklin in 1900.
Mary was widowed by May 1910 when she is listed ijn the census of Franklin, Chester Co, aged 72 and living with her single daughter Hannah, aged 43.
In Jan 1920 Mary and Hannah were living in Pennsbury, Chester Co, Mary aged 88 and Hannah aged 52.
Mary's birth place is given in the death certificate of her daughter, named as Mrs. Elizabeth Scatchard. Elizabeth was born 16 Nov 1859 in Chester Co and died 23 Dec 1922. Her parents were named as Henry Jacobs and Mary Hart by the informant, Burdette Scatchard of New London PA.
Though the 1900 census gave Mary's birth as Oct 1831 her death certificate gives the exact date as 16 Mar 1831. The informant was her probable son Hugh Jacobs so this is the date I'm using here.
