| Notes |
- Named in her father's will written 21 Feb 1878. Martha is described as deceased, the wife of the late John 'Duffs', in Jordan's History of Delaware County, p. 1048, published in 1914.
Pennsylvania Marriage Index transcription names the husband of Martha C. Hart as John Walters 'Dubs', married in Phialdelphia in 1891.
In the 1900 census of East Goshen, Chester Co, John W. 'Dubb' is listed, born Nov 1826 in PA, with his wife Martha C., born Aug 1833 in PA. They had been married for nine years. With them is Edwin J. Hart, born Mar 1832, described as Boarder. This is no doubt Martha's brother despite the listing as 'Edwin'. He is named as Edward in his father's will and a transcription of the Old Haverford burial ground, and as 'Edmund' in an application for his veteran's headstone.
