| Notes |
- William was married when he died, his wife Caroline S. Hart named in his obituary and also signing as the informant for his death certificate. His parents were named as Hugh Hart and Annie Lukens.
His birth date was given as 10 Jul 1836 or 1856 in the scribble of a death certicate copy but his age was also given as 66 years, 9 months. Neither date works out to a match with his death year of 1912. I am using 1836 here as it 'could' be what was written in the death certificate. It is more in line with the known birth years of some of his siblings and is closer to the approximate birth year of 1838 shown by his age of 12 years in the earliest 1850 census. Naturally, in the 1900 census he gave his birth month and year as Mar 1841.
William was a veteran of the Civil War according to Jordan's History of Delaware County, published in 1914.
