- Hugh Hart is named as the father in his son Samuel's death certificate.
Hugh and Ann are lsited with their family in the census records of Upper Darby from 1820 through 1850 so all six of their children would have been born there. By 1860 they had removed to Haverford.
Hugh Hart of Haverford wrote his will 21 Feb 1878 and named his wife Ann and children William Hart, Martha Hart, Samuel G. Hart, Mary L. intermarried with Henry Jacobs, Edward J. Hart, and Hannah B. intermarried with Lewis Deaves. The witnesses were William D. Jones, Florance Lockwood and Lewis L. Bryan. Unfortunately he named no siblings or other family members that would help me identify him.
Hugh Hart died 4 Mar 1882, aged 82 years and was buried at Haverford Friends. A notice in the Delaware County Daily Times on 22 Mar regarding his estate notes that the executors were Samuel G. Hart and Daniel Kinzie.
Both of Hugh's parents appear to have been alive in 1820 as that census of Upper Darby includes a man and a woman older than 45 years.
Hugh is named as Hugh Hart Jr. in the 1830 census of Upper Darby, enumerated on the same page as Hugh Hart. Despite so far finding few details beyond census records about a Hugh Hart Sr it seems there were two generations named Hugh Hart.

W. W. H. Davis makes no mention of a Hugh Hart in his History of the Hart Family despite some members of the family having located in Chester county.
