Ballard Crowell, W, M, age 17, died Oct 1860, born Washington Co, son of Joseph and Mary Crowell. A second source, a US Federal Census Mortality Schedule, states that Chester B. Crowell, age 16, born in VA, died of consumption in Nov 1859 after a duration of 30 days. The record is titled "Persons who died during the Year ending 1st June, 1860 in the Western District, County of Washington, State of Virginia". The entry is clearly written by enumerator A. G. Thompson, Ass't Marshal. Because I have an image of this official record I am using this death information in our database.
