We now have three genealogy files on this site: our main database which is a combined ‘Ives-Leedom’ tree, plus two additional working trees with so-far unconnected people I've found along the way, ‘Leedoms-unknown’ and ‘Netherlands-unknown’. All of the Search results will identify which tree contains the individual or place in question.

Different sources sometimes have conflicting information and there are undoubtedly a few typographical errors in here as well. Please feel free to send us any corrections to errors you may find in our files. Additions are always welcome too!

    Notes
    • Abington MM Minutes dated 25th of the 4th mo 1763
Abington frds also enter a complt agst Richard Leathem who is gone out in his marriage contrary to the Rules of our Discipline and being married by a Priest - Thos Floyd & John Michener are appd to visit & treat with him concerning it and make report thereon to next meeting. [It appears that Sarah Twining was a member in good standing a year prior to this complaint so I'm not entirely clear on why she and Richard would have been married by a priest.]

      Abington MM Minutes dated 27th 6mo, 1763
Richrd Leedom produced a paper to this mtg in which he acknowledges and condemns his misconduct in going out in his Marriage contrary to the Rules of our Discipline which was red & not appearing satisfactory is returned to him again and Thos. Lloyd & Thos. Rose are appd to make further inquiry into his conduct and report theron to next mo. mg.

Abington MM Minutes dated 31st of 10th mo, 1763
The case of Richard Leedom is still continued as there appears to be some difficulty in receiving any paper given in by him as a condemnation of his fault in going out in his marriage Samuel Lloyd & Daniel Longstreth are added to the frds appt in his case and as sd Richard's wife belongs to Wrightstown mo. mg sd frds are desired to meet with such frds as sd mo mg may appt on her acct and make report thereon to next mn mg.
