News: Despite the Login on the Menu, no Login or Registration is required. We use this for administrative purposes only.

We now have three genealogy files on this site: our main database which is a combined ‘Ives-Leedom’ tree, plus two additional working trees with so-far unconnected people I've found along the way, ‘Leedoms-unknown’ and ‘Netherlands-unknown’. All of the Search results will identify which tree contains the individual or place in question.

Different sources sometimes have conflicting information and there are undoubtedly a few typographical errors in here as well. Please feel free to send us any corrections to errors you may find in our files. Additions are always welcome too!

    Notes
    • Baptised as an adult in Neshaminy Presbyterian Church, Warwick, Bucks Co on 5 Nov 1845 along with Isaac and Yardley Leedom. There are no parents named in the record, only the notation that they were 'Adults'.

Matilda resided in Warminster in 1845 when she married J. Wesley Wood. The marriage was performed by the Rev. James P. Wilson. She was 22 years old in the the 1850 census of Warrington, Bucks Co.

Matilda and John Wood were living in Ward 14, Philadelphia in the 1860 census listing with three children: William, age 15; Anna, age 11; and Mary, age 4. Also living with them was Ann E. Leedom, age 48, her occupation given as Seamstress. (Could Ann be a sister?) Matilda and John were themselves listed as the second family in the household of William and Mary Kutz, both aged 28. They also had three children: Emma, age 7; Edward, age 5; and Ida, age 1.

Matilda's death notice was in the Philadelphia Inquirer on 3 Sep 1885. She was named as Mrs. Matilda Wood, aged 57 years, her burial information given only as 'proceeding from the Neshaminy Chapel, Hartsville, Bucks Co'. I haven't found her death certificate yet but it probably won't name her parents. Maybe I'll find a burial record.
