- Died before 1880 as his wife Juliette is listed as a widow living with Jasper and Emily (Cushing) Webster that year, though she is listed as "Jane Hoffman", not Juliette or Julia. Listed with "Jane" are Frank Hoffman age 12 and Ada B. Hoffman age 3. Frank probably a son of Peter from a marriage previous to Juliette (they married in 1875), Ada a daughter of Peter and Juliette. Daughter Ada was adopted by the Websters, and the 1880 census lists Juliette as having 'consumption' (tuberculosis), so Juliette probably died soon after this census.
