A photo of his tombstone at FindAGrave.com (courtesy Ronald Welch) is quite readable: "In memory of Jeremiah Sheldon who died May 18th, 1852, aged 84 yrs, 1 mo. & 10 days". The memorial page to Jeremiah at FindAGrave also contains a biographical sketch of their son Francis Drake Sheldon from 'Portrait and Biographical Album, Henry County, Iowa' (pub. 1888).
